No other shopping area attracts so many customers as the Westenhellweg. Together with the Ostenhellweg, this ancient Hellweg trading route is today the pulsating heart of the City Centre. When Dortmund was a member of the Hanseatic League waggons laden with salt and silk were using this route. Nowadays more than 12,000 people per hour are attracted by this shopping area, and that is the reason why apart from old and established shops so many branches of large international retailers can be found here. |
