This is the oldest museum of its kind in the Ruhr District and it has been collecting all things precious, rare, typical and ordinary since 1883. Here you can admire not only the "Golden Treasure of Dortmund", but also Madonnas painted by Dortmund's master craftsman Conrad von Soest, and the Renaissance collection of rare objects. Every year many visitors are attracted by the exhibition of Dortmund's history, the art collection, as well as an extensive exhibition about the history of surveying.
