St. Reinoldi Church (protestant)/Emperor's Bell
The main church of Dortmund dating from the 13th century is named after St. Reinold, the patron saint of the city. It was partly destroyed during the 2nd World War. The bell tower is definitely worth a visit. Between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. visitors can climb the 207 steps to a viewing platform to see Dortmund from above. Damaged during the 2nd World War, the bell was placed in front of Reinoldi Church when the reconstructed church was reopened in 1956. The hole in the bell serves as a reminder to peace.
